Shrewsbury Towne-Monmouth Chapter, NSDAR

Welcome to the website of the Shrewsbury Towne-Monmouth Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

The Shrewsbury Towne-Monmouth Chapter was created by the 2004 merger of two chapters — Shrewsbury Towne and Monmouth. The Monmouth Chapter was created in 1900, and named for the Battle of Monmouth; the Shrewsbury Towne Chapter was established in 1935, and was named for the town of Shrewsbury, where the chapter was organized. Additional information about our history is available on the Our Chapter page.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children. Nationally, DAR members volunteer more than 250,000 hours annually to veteran patients, award thousands of dollars in scholarships and financial aid each year to students, and support schools for the underprivileged with annual donations exceeding one million dollars.

More than sixteen videos on the DAR are featured on YouTube, with plans to add more as they become available.

FacebookInformation on Today's DAR is available on Facebook as well. Would you like to know more about the Shrewsbury Towne-Monmouth Chapter?
If you have a patriot of the American Revolution in your ancestry, we would love to have you visit, and to join us. If you believe you are descended from a Revolutionary patriot, but are not sure, please know that visitors to our meetings are always welcome, and we will help you trace your ancestor. It is important to note that the term “patriot” includes not only those who served in the army, navy, or a militia, but also those men and women who provided funds, food, livestock, shelter, medical attention, or in any way furthered the cause of American independence.

Our chapter will be happy to provide assistance to you in proving your descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, and in establishing your eligibility for DAR membership. We can also provide you with genealogical advice if you are just beginning your family search. For assistance please contact our chapter regent, Kathleen J. Evans
